Mischa Barton

Barton was a part of theater as well as film and television. Her nationality is American British. The play Slavs by Tony Kushner in New York's Lincoln Center was her first theatrical performance. James Lapine's Twelve Dreams was her first part. She made her acting debut in 1996 when she made a guest appearance in the American serial show All My Children, and she voiced an character on the Nickelodeon animated show KaBlam! from 1996 to 1997. The first time she was recognized for her acting was Lawn Dogs, a drama which starred Sam Rockwell. There were several notable appearances in films in films like M. Night Shyamalan's thriller about psychological issues The Sixth Sense (1999) as well as the romantic comedy Notting Hill (1999). She also acted in the 1999 independent crime drama Pups. Barton was Evan Rachel Wood's lover on the ABC series Once and Again in 2001 and was also in the independently-produced film Lost and Delirious in 2001. She portrayed Marissa Cooper in the 2003-2006 season of the Fox TV series The O.C., for where she took home two Teen Choice Awards. Barton was well-known for the part, as well as Entertainment Weekly named her the year's "It Girl" in 2003. Barton performed as the lead in the Richard Attenborough-directed drama Closing the Ring as well as in comedies like The St Trinian's Assassination of a high school president and the Assassination of a president.
